This Opt-Out Policy explains how customers of shipping and exporting companies using the Shipmajor platform can stop receiving notifications through SMS, WhatsApp, and email. It ensures compliance with applicable messaging regulations, including CTIA, TCPA, and other carrier guidelines.
2. Notification Channels
Customers may receive shipment-related updates through one or more of the following channels:
- SMS (text messages)
These messages may be triggered automatically by the shipping process or manually by the shipping company using the Shipmajor App.
3. Opt-Out Options
Customers have the right to stop receiving messages at any time, through the following methods:
SMS
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe.
- A confirmation message will be sent acknowledging the opt-out.
- No further messages will be sent unless the customer opts in again (e.g., by replying START).
- Reply STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message to opt out.
- The shipping company must honor this request immediately.
- Customers can re-subscribe by providing new consent.
- Click the Unsubscribe link included in the message (if provided).
- Or reply to the email with the word UNSUBSCRIBE.
- Future emails will cease once the request is processed.
4. Contacting the Shipping Company
Customers may also opt out by contacting their shipping or exporting company directly. The company is responsible for:
- Promptly processing opt-out requests
- Updating customer preferences across all applicable channels
- Ensuring no further messages are sent unless the customer provides renewed consent
Shipmajor provides tools for shipping companies to manage these preferences, but does not directly control or initiate customer communications.
5. No Further Communication After Opt-Out
Once a customer has opted out via any supported method:
- They must not receive additional messages on that channel unless they opt in again
- Any automated or manual messaging must be disabled for that contact point
Failure to comply may result in violations of local regulations or carrier rules.
